Movember

In 2023, our Brown Recycling team united for Movember to raise funds and awareness for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, prostate cancer, and testicular cancer.

Throughout the month our office and yards turned into a lively display of moustaches with many of the team embracing the Movember challenge. More than just growing facial hair, with 70% of our team being male we also hoped to spread awareness about some crucial men’s health issues and encourage conversations between colleagues, their friends and family.

As the month-long challenge concluded, we marked our Movember achievements with the “Moscars,” a unique awards ceremony acknowledging the best and not-so-best ‘staches. Laughter filled the room as we crowned winners and shared stories behind each moustache. Our female colleagues also got involved with a splendid display of stick-on moustaches!

The highlight was the incredible support from our community. Through the generosity of friends, family, and colleagues, the Brown Recycling team successfully raised an impressive £958 in sponsorship. These funds will contribute to essential research and support programs, making a tangible impact on men’s health issues.

Movember 2023 was more than just a month of facial hair growth for the Brown Recycling team; it was a collective effort to break stigmas, raise awareness, and contribute to the ongoing fight against men’s health challenges.
