Commercial Glass Recycling

All glass processed at our waste recycling facility is taken to glass recycling plants to be reused in the glass industry.

For glass bottles we offer our trade waste service via 240L wheelie bins or a chain lift skips for larger volumes. Glazing units or plate glass can be collected via chain lift skip or hook-lift services, tailored to suit your needs.

Glass can be recycled infinitely, which is why it is so important to separate your glass for recycling. Recycling glass doesn’t diminish its quality and it helps to prevent the need for new glass to be produced.

Some glass types cannot be recycled because they contain other materials; this includes lead glass, glass fibre and borosilicate glass used in cooking containers. Coloured glass can most definitely be recycled, though it requires separating into different colours to be processed.

Glass recycling benefits the environment because we need fewer raw materials and it reduces carbon emissions produced in the manufacturing process. Rather than disposing of glass in landfill sites, where it can contaminate ecosystems, we can infinitely recycle glass.

It is always helpful to clean glass before recycling as it helps to speed up the process and avoids contaminating all of your other glass items. However, you do not have to remove labels before recycling your glass unless it is easy for you to do so.
