CreweCreates CIC

Brown Recycling are delighted to be providing total waste management services for the ongoing renovation of a new art-focused community space in Crewe town centre. The ground floor of the building was ready to open to the public for the first time on the last Saturday of November 2025, with the full project expected to be completed by mid-2026.

The Challenge

CreweCreates CIC, the fantastic organisation behind the scheme and other projects to bring art to creatives across the town, was first established in 2023 at The Market Shopping Centre in Crewe.

After a highly successful first year, they quickly realised they needed a much bigger space and took over an old retail unit that had laid dormant for 4 years in 2024 with the aim of renovating it.

As a CIC (Community Interest Company), they rely on the hard work of volunteers and reliable partnerships, which is where Brown Recycling comes in. As a business who take great pride in supporting community art initiatives and projects, we couldn’t be happier to be asked to help.

Solution

Our contribution of commercial skip hire services has eased pressure on the team of volunteers and helped them speed up the process of clearing out the old retail unit, which has resulted in the ground floor workshop area opening weeks ahead of schedule.

Outcome

When finished, the space will be called PLATFORM, a community ArtSpace and gallery that will provide art provision, opportunities and training for artists, families and young people in the community. It will host visual art, music, and theatre as well as free workshops for the community. It will also offer support for hidden makers and artists within the town to develop and establish themselves further.

The Brown Recycling team remain on hand to continue supporting this great project in the coming months, right through to completion.
