As a long-standing sponsor, we’ve backed the Jake Evans Trucksport team since 2019, helping to fuel their progress, performance, and passion for racing on and off the track. Take a look at our latest interview with principal driver Jake from the team, where he shares insights into their journey and what it means to have the community behind them.
A: Our entry into truck racing was surprisingly straightforward. We’re a family-run team with a family business in the commercial vehicle trade, and we already had friends competing in the British Truck Racing Championship. This meant we had a vested interest from the outset and had previously supplied race parts to our customers. We decided to build our own truck around 2016, and it took us three years to complete it in our spare time. The race paddock feels like one big family, so we received a great deal of help from local teams to get our truck built and out on track.
We ran the truck for a few years with another driver, and this year I’ve taken the step up into driving myself. Thanks to our fantastic group of local sponsors and my incredible team, we’ve been able to invest wisely, particularly in the race truck and it’s certainly paying off in terms of performance.
A: Brown Recycling is one of our longest standing sponsors. We had already been working closely with Rod and the maintenance team, as we were servicing the Brown Recycling fleet of trucks and machinery through our family business, so the interest naturally stemmed from there.
Since 2019, Brown Recycling has been our main sponsor, and this year in 2025, it’s fantastic to be repaying that commitment with strong results on track. It’s also brilliant to see Rod and his family getting involved and enjoying what we do, proudly showcasing the Brown Recycling name to tens of thousands of spectators each race weekend across the UK, and this year into Europe as well.
As for what Brown’s sponsor, the answer really is everything. Their support covers all aspects of our racing efforts, including race entry fees, specialist race parts, logistics, livery and vinyl, damage repairs, engine upgrades, race suspension, gearbox builds and servicing—the list goes on.
A:
Our relationship with Brown Recycling and the Brown family is absolutely fantastic. It’s wonderful to see Mr and Mrs Brown and the family enjoying our race events and supporting us on multiple occasions this year. Being able to deliver results with the truck we’ve got underneath us this season is phenomenal.
We’ve been involved together since the very start of our racing journey, and I believe we’ve both grown substantially since then.
As a family-run business and team ourselves, partnering with a local, family-run company the size of Brown Recycling really resonates with us and aligns perfectly with our family values. We genuinely couldn’t do it without you – thank you! Here’s to more trophies this season and our charge towards the championship title.
Next up: the Snetterton and Le Mans double-header in late September 2025.
