The Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge

About the Challenge

The Brown Recycling Skip Art Challenge, developed in partnership with Short Supply, is a celebration of artistic expression, environmental sustainability and community spirit. We’re giving ten talented artists the opportunity to transform ordinary skips into extraordinary works of art, whilst also making a positive difference to our community.

We’re proud to announce that all proceeds from this campaign will be donated to Dougie Mac Hospice, a local hospice that provides essential care and support to individuals facing life-limiting illnesses.

Enter the Competition

The deadline for entry closes on 17/07/2024, so the sooner you get started on your project, the better! If you have any questions about the project, such as the size of the skip you’ll be working on or judgement criteria, feel free to reach out to our Marketing team via email on [email protected].

Good luck to all the artists who enter, we look forward to seeing all of your submissions!

Short Supply

Short Supply is a community interest company based in Manchester who create opportunities for emerging and mid-career artists in the North-west and nationally, producing exhibitions, commissions, competitions, talks and workshops that address the barriers creatives face to employment and education. They work directly with artists and arts organisations and increasingly with other commercial organisations who want to be involved in the creative industries.

Dougie Mac

Dougie Mac, a hospice founded in 1973 and located in Stoke-on-Trent, offers essential hospice services at no cost to more than 3,500 patients every year who are dealing with life-limiting illnesses. Also, the hospice provides supportive care for their families and caregivers.

Brown Recycling have been long-standing supporters of Dougie Mac, helping raise much-needed funds directly and through event sponsorship. In 2022, Brown Recycling’s commitment to supporting Dougie Mac over the years has been recognised with a prestigious Platinum Partnership Award, reserved for businesses that contribute between £20,000 and £50,000 in fundraising efforts for the hospice.
